A Working Vacation

I'm back home after a working vacation on the California coast. After a hectic winter, it was a treat to live the west coast casual lifestyle, wearing my robin's egg blue pastel UGGS and fitting in daily doses of flow yoga.

Alas I did not fill a sketchbook like fashion designer Zandra Rhodes does on her travels.

But I did see some fabulous costume exhibitions at LACMA and MOCA in Los Angeles, the Legion of Honor in San Francisco and Balboa Park in San Diego (scroll back for these posts).

It was a holiday rich in historical references - a delightful contrast to the presentation of contemporary Canadian fashion at LG Fashion Week in Toronto. The week long fashion event begins tomorrow night with an opening night party hosted by my favourite fashion retailer,  Holt Renfrew.
